About Me
A music copyst produces the parts (that is, the individual music lines) from a music score, in preparation for a performance or recording session. The work in typically done for arrangements of popular music or jazz, for film scores, or for contemporary classical orchestral and ensemble works.Traditionally this work was done by hand, but now it can also be done by using computer music notation applications. In this type of work the copyist takes the original handwritten score of a composer and enters the notation into a music notation computer program (the most professional of these are Finale and Sibelius).
